See what a wrapping service leaves after materials, labor and fees. Change the example to match the service your team can actually deliver.
YOUR SCENARIO
Contribution per wrapped order: $2.45. Contribution per 30 days after app cost: $117.50.
Know what each wrap leaves.
- Labor cost per wrapped order
- $1.20
- Contribution per wrapped order
- $2.45
- Contribution per 30 days, after app cost
- $117.50
The wrapping price leaves a positive contribution before fixed overhead and other unentered costs.
The price needed to cover your entered direct costs and percentage fee is $2.48 per wrapped order, before app cost.
3 wrapped orders cover the entered app cost, before fixed overhead.
This is contribution, not net profit. It excludes tax, fixed overhead, returns and other costs unless you enter them. Order volume is your assumption. Parcel’s tracked interactions are not the same as completed wrapping orders.

How the calculator works
Labor cost per wrap is minutes spent × hourly labor cost ÷ 60. Contribution per wrap is your wrapping price minus materials, labor, other variable costs and the percentage fee on that price.
The 30-day scenario multiplies that contribution by the number of wrapped orders you enter, then subtracts app cost. It does not estimate how many shoppers will choose wrapping. The direct-cost price is rounded up to the next cent and excludes the app fee.
A worked example
At a $5 wrapping price, $1 of materials, four minutes of labor at $18 per hour, a 3% fee and $0.20 of other costs, each wrapped order leaves $2.45 before fixed overhead. Fifty wrapped orders leave $117.50 after a $5 app cost.
These are fictional inputs. Count the labor involved in selecting materials, wrapping and preparing a gift note. For oversized products or multiple separately wrapped items, model the actual service you intend to sell.
Does this tell me what customers will pay?
No. It shows the cost of a service at the price and order volume you enter. Compare that service with what your customers expect, run a small test and record completed wrapping purchases, fulfillment time and refunds.
A low price that loses money per wrap does not become profitable just because more customers choose it. A positive contribution still has to help cover rent, management time and other fixed costs.
What does Parcel provide?
Parcel lets a shopper add a paid gift-wrapping product and an optional gift message. The note stays on the wrapping order line. Your business supplies the materials, wraps the order and fulfills the service.
Free includes 20 tracked interactions per calendar month. Growth is $5 USD per 30 days with no monthly tracked-interaction limit. Both support up to 100 campaigns and have no percentage or per-order fees. Tracked interactions are not a count of completed wrapping orders.
